| Biography: |
Georges Lepape was a prominent artist of the French Art Deco |
| |
movement. He studied at the École des Arts
Décoratifs, Paris, and at the ateliers of Humbert and Cormon.
In 1911 he was commissioned to illustrate Les Choses de Paul Poiret,
a celebrated designer, and in 1912 programmes for the Ballet
Russe. He designed innumerable magazine covers and fashion
plates for La Gazette du Bon Ton and Vogue until 1932
when Vogue did its first photographic cover. |
